01 What is a PTFE-lined pipe?
PTFE-lined pipe is a composite pipe with an outer layer made of metal (such as stainless steel, carbon steel, etc.), alloy or engineering plastic, and an inner wall coated or laminated with a layer of pure PTFE or modified PTFE material. PTFE significantly improves the overall performance of the pipe with its excellent properties, such as high chemical stability, extremely low friction coefficient, excellent heat resistance, excellent electrical insulation, biocompatibility and non-adhesion.
02 How to customize PTFE-lined pipe?
1. Demand confirmation
Specification parameters: clarify the basic dimensional requirements such as outer diameter, inner diameter, length, joint type of the lined pipe, and the specific requirements of the PTFE lining, such as whether a specific modified formula (such as carbon fiber modification) is required to enhance certain properties.
Performance indicators: determine technical parameters such as working pressure, temperature range, chemical resistance requirements, electrical insulation level, and whether specific industry standards or certifications need to be met.
2. Cooperation and communication
Supplier selection: cooperate with lined PTFE tube manufacturers with relevant qualifications and experience, such as the Trifluoromethane factory, which provides customized services.
Sample production and acceptance: make samples according to design requirements, and mass produce after customer confirmation.
03 What are the uses of medical PTFE lined tubes?
Medical PTFE lined tubes have extensive and important applications in the field of medical devices due to their excellent biocompatibility, corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, low friction and high cleanliness:
Interventional catheters: PTFE lined tubes are used to make microcatheters, mechanical thrombectomy catheters, guide catheters and other interventional treatment devices. Due to their ultra-thin wall thickness (up to tens of microns) and good lubricity, the catheters can pass through narrow and tortuous blood vessel channels smoothly, while reducing damage to the blood vessel walls.
Biomaterials: PTFE is used to make artificial blood vessels, heart repair membranes and other tissue repair and artificial organ materials because it is non-toxic, does not induce immune response and can withstand various disinfection treatments, providing patients with long-term and stable alternative or auxiliary treatment options.
Drug delivery system: PTFE-lined tubes are used to construct precise and controllable drug delivery devices, such as the infusion tubes of implantable drug delivery pumps. Their low adsorption ensures effective drug delivery and reduces drug loss and side effects.
Laboratory equipment: In medical research and clinical testing, PTFE-lined tubes are used as fluid transmission pipelines for analytical instruments, cell culture systems and other equipment to ensure the accuracy of experimental data and the cleanliness of the experimental environment.
